Privacy Policy — The Ruffies

Playing and saving

The game does not require a Ruffies account. It stores progress, currency, unlocked characters and settings on your device so you can resume playing. The game also stores local counters for ad requests, displays and failures. These counters are not sent to a developer analytics server by the game code.

The game does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or precise location. Core gameplay can be used offline; advertisements and purchases require a network connection. Device or operating-system backup and transfer features may separately copy app data according to your device settings.

Advertising and children's privacy

The Ruffies is intended for a mixed audience, including children and adults. The updated game is configured to apply child-directed and under-age advertising protections to all players, including players whose age is unknown. It does not use an age screen to enable a less restrictive advertising mode for adults.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The app requests child-directed treatment, disables personalised advertising through its under-age setting, limits requested ad content to Google's G rating, and removes the Android Advertising ID permission. These controls reduce advertising data use; they do not mean that advertising services receive no data.

When ads are requested or used, Google may process the device's IP address, approximate location inferred from that address, device and network information, ad interactions, and diagnostic information needed to deliver ads, maintain security, prevent fraud and measure service performance. Google's SDK documentation also describes identifiers used by its services; the applicable identifiers depend on the SDK version and child/privacy settings. The app is configured to prevent transmission of the Android Advertising ID for advertising.

Google explains its practices in its Privacy Policy and information about partner apps. Non-personalised advertising still involves processing data. We do not ask children to provide their name, email address, date of birth or other identifying information to play.

Purchases

Optional in-app purchases use Google Play Billing. Google handles checkout and payment details. The game receives purchase results and transaction information needed to grant the purchased content; it does not receive your payment-card number. Purchase records held by Google are governed by Google's policies and may remain after you remove the game.

Support and service providers

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary information about a child. We use support correspondence to respond to you and resolve the issue. Google provides advertising, billing and platform services and processes data under its applicable terms and policies. Data may be processed in countries other than where you live.

Retention, deletion and choices

You can remove local game data using Android's app storage controls. This can permanently remove progress and locally stored purchases or currency; Google Play purchase records are separate. Uninstalling generally removes local app data, but operating-system backups or device transfers may restore data later.

Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us. We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request and meet applicable legal or security obligations. Where retention is necessary, we will explain the reason when responding. For information independently held by Google, Google's privacy controls and request procedures also apply.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Parents or guardians can contact us on a child's behalf. We may request proportionate information to verify a request, and will not request more identifying information than needed.

Security and changes

Google documents encryption in transit for its advertising SDK. We use reasonable safeguards for support correspondence and restrict access to information we receive. No service can promise absolute security. This policy will be updated when the game's data practices change, with the publication date shown above and additional notice where required.

This portfolio is hosted on Netlify. Its hosting service processes connection information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and secure the website. Portfolio pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and a graphics library from Cloudflare's CDN, which receive connection information when those resources load. The privacy and advertising pages do not load those external resources. No advertising or analytics scripts have been added to this website. Links to Google Play, social profiles and marketplaces open services governed by their own policies.
